The hammerhead shark, belonging to the Sphyrnidae family, is an apex predator native to warm ocean waters worldwide. Noted for its distinctive T-shaped head, which aids in hunting by providing a 360-degree sensory range, it has tiny electroreceptors to detect prey even when hidden in sand. Surprisingly, schools of juvenile hammerheads often gather in large numbers, a rarity among top predators. Some researchers believe their unique head shape allows for better maneuverability and a sharper turning radius when chasing prey.
