Known for their rich oral traditions, music, and cultural resilience, the Wolof have played a central role in the region's history. Their language, also called Wolof, is widely spoken across Senegal and partly in the Gambia and Mauritania.
Traditional Wolof dance is expressive, grounded in communal rhythm, and often performed to the beat of sabar drums — embodying both storytelling and celebration.
