Dumbo octopuses are small octopuses native to the open seas, residing at depths of nearly 5,000 meters. The name "dumbo" originates from their resemblance to the title character of Disney's 1941 film, Dumbo, due to the prominent ear-like fins that extend from the mantle above each eye.
